Grand Opening Of Library Was Grand

Sendalonde Community Library had a grand opening on Sunday, 16 October 2022. DJ Snoots Dwagon played Celtic and Irish pub songs and his own songs for two fun hours of dancing and chatting.

The early birds to arrive were all Dinkies: Nebby Newman, Graceann Noel and Ray Lopez in his spooky Halloween costume. DJ Snoots Dwagon and Nebby Newman contemplated the food offerings, unfortunately sitting on some. [Snoots usually sits on the cake, but this time he chose a big chunk of cheese.]

Roffellos Kisses and Angelic Kisses had some of the best dance moves. Angelic’s dress with a skirt of books and book pages was very in theme with the Library!

At one point DJ Snoots played Last Unicorn from his Almost Irish album and Nebby brought out a unicorn to dance. Dinkies are so much fun!

This was Library Advisor VIP ShalHeira Nailo’s first Library event as the founding member of the new Sendalonde Library Committee. We will be inviting others who we believe are a good fit for helping the Library grow. The Library was founded by Alexina Proctor and Prax Maryjasz on another grid in 2011. (That grid no longer exists and we had to rebuild.) The current Library Board of Directors is Alexina, Prax and Snoots.

There was a steady group of attendees with new attendees coming and staying for awhile. I tried to get photos of everyone, but Jake Holman and Galaxy One never rezzed for my viewer. Valibrarian Gregg and Suemoon Magic came from Kitely and Lamat Lisle and Jillian2000 Quintessa came from Discovery Grid.

Tari Tari came wearing a wonderful red Queen of Hearts costume complete with avatar and hair. [Note to self: have people come to events dressed in a costume from a book or wearing something book-related.]

The group that stayed to the end were treated to a fireworks show and then given a quick tour of the library. We ended at the nearby Terraport Center that has teleports to all the main highlights of the 64-region Wellspring.  The Sendalonde Library is on the Sendalonde region, just one part of Wellspring.
